Financial services companies have been eagerly seeking partnerships with sports clubs, and the latest development in this trend is Ebury’s sponsorship deal with Rangers Football Club, a prominent Scottish football team.

This partnership is set to extend until the conclusion of the 2025-26 playing season.

The announcement, made on a Friday, establishes Ebury as the Official FX Transfer partner for Rangers Football Club.

Although the full extent of the partnership remains undisclosed, both parties anticipate a mutually beneficial collaboration, as stated in the official press release.

Ebury’s primary focus will be on offering comprehensive financial solutions to support Rangers’ global finance operations.

This partnership marks Ebury as a rapidly growing and innovative global financial services firm, aligning closely with Rangers’ objectives.

Karim Virani, Chief Commercial Officer at Rangers Football Club, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Ebury is a hugely innovative and rapidly growing global financial services firm which we are extremely proud to partner with.

Our plans working alongside them as a club, but also to support the local business network in Scotland, are extremely exciting, and we’re very much looking forward to bringing this partnership to life.”

Ebury, founded by Juan Lobato and Salvador García, specializes in international payment solutions, foreign exchange services, and risk management across more than 130 currencies.

The company boasts a global workforce of over 1,700 employees and processes an impressive £27 billion in annual transactions.

Notably, Ebury is strategically expanding its global footprint. It recently launched a bank in Brazil and acquired a financial services company in South Africa.

Additionally, the company has intentions to go public through an initial public offering within the next two years.

This isn’t Ebury’s first venture into sports sponsorships. In November of the previous year, they inked a multi-year deal with a Dutch football club.

In 2023, they secured a four-year partnership with Fulham Football Club in England and formed another agreement with a French football club.

Phil Monkhouse, Ebury’s UK Country Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to the local community, stating, “Partnering with Rangers is a testament to our commitment to the local community.

Rangers’ sense of tradition, competitive spirit, and incredible fan base is why we’re not just sponsors; we’re fans, dedicated to the development and success of Scottish businesses.”

In conclusion, Ebury’s sponsorship deal with Rangers Football Club is a significant development in the growing trend of financial services companies partnering with sports clubs.

This partnership promises to bring about positive outcomes for both parties, further solidifying Ebury’s position in the global financial services industry while supporting Rangers and the local Scottish business community.
